Beautiful Creatures!

Beautiful Creatures Review

This is an exciting & amazing movie with superb special effects. For those not familiar with the story, it's about a young man, Ethan, looking to escape the small Southern town he's always lived in when he meets the new girl in town, Lena, who is immediately the victim of the self righteous Christian fundamentalists in school as well as the rest of the town. She is mysterious, but he isn't the type that goes along with their ideology, & is very intrigued & attracted to her. He finds himself caught up in the strangest household he's ever witnessed & so begins the wildest journey he never expected to be taken on. Ethan is played by Alden Ehrenreich, & I totally see why he was cast, he was perfect as the funny, charming, & adventurous protagonist that can't keep away from the beguiling, yet curiously sad, Lena, who is portrayed by Alice Englert, & was outstanding. I was very impressed with these 2 newcomers, & am hoping to see them continue in the rest of the series.

The movie was complimented with the remarkable talents of the seasoned award winning Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, & Emmy Rossum. I have to admit if it wasn't for those 4 being cast in this movie, I might have passed it up, I am SO very glad I did not. I will be seeing it again upon it's release & it will be one I'll have to own as well on Blu-Ray. I now want to read the novels because I need to know more about what had to be edited for the movie. I say see it, 2 thumbs way up!
